Push-Pull Control Cables

Push-pull control cables transfer motion in both directions between a control point and the equipment being moved. They are commonly used for throttle, shift, latch, valve, damper, and general equipment actuation applications.

Application fit

Push-pull cables provide positive motion in both directions for connected mechanisms. Pull-only spring-return applications are typically served by tension cable families.

Series options

Series options are organized by cable size, travel, mounting style, length, temperature rating, and end fittings.

Common uses

Push-pull control cables are used when a lever, pedal, handle, or actuator needs to remotely control a moving component. Common applications include throttle controls, choke controls, shift controls, latches, valves, dampers, clutch or brake controls, hydrostatic transmission controls, marine controls, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, industrial machinery, buses, specialty vehicles, and OEM replacement assemblies.

Engineering fit

A push-pull cable is usually a good choice when a rigid linkage is not practical because of distance, machine layout, vibration, access limitations, or the need to route around other components. The cable allows mechanical motion to be transferred through a flexible path while still providing control in both directions.
